R.Ruard Ganzevoort

R.Ruard Ganzevoort is professor of practical theology at VU University Amsterdam since 2005 and a member of the Dutch Senate since 2011. He worked for ten years as a minister in the Nederlands Gereformeerde Kerk, as assistant/associate professor at the Protestant Theological University Kampen NL, and as professor at Windesheim University of Applied Sciences, Zwolle NL.

His main areas of interest are pastoral theology and psychology, psychology of religion, narrative approaches, trauma, and popular culture.He published or (co-)edited 14 books and more than 100 scientific or professional publications. He served as president of the International Academy of Practical Theology (IAPT) from 2007-2009.

Presently he is the director of the Amsterdam Center for the Study of Lived Religion and coordinator of the international research network Transforming Religious Identities and Communities at the Intersections of the Rural, Urban, and Virtual. Together with Erik de Jongh he coordinates the Master program Spiritual Care.
