She is an ordained minister of  the Protestant Church in Western part of Indonesia, and pastored the churches in Java and Sumatera for 10 years.  She did Clinical Pastoral Education in Hawaii in 2006 & 2010. Currently she is working on a Ph.D. in Practical Theology at VU.

The title of her project is Exploring Counseling Approaches as Models for Pastoral Ministry in Indonesian Congregational settings. This project aims to develop a cultural-sensitive pastoral counseling approach for the congregational setting in Indonesia, more specifically for the GPIB-church in Jakarta. The project will analyze the particularities of the context studied, including dimensions of globalization and urbanization and the specific needs of the sometimes marginalized and ostracized Christian community in the predominantly Muslim Indonesian society. The relevance of this project lies primarily in the need for an adequate and context-specific model of pastoral counseling.

Supervisors: Prof.dr. R.Ruard Ganzevoort (VU University) and Prof.dr. Nelly van Doorn-Harder (VU University and Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, USA).
