Identity and Spirituality

This project explores the intersections of identity questions and spirituality. Focusing on the individual level of (narrative) identity construction, the researchers study the ways in which spiritual meanings are developed and practices are lived. Researchers include:

Jan Grimell: Existential and Religious dimensions in identity reconstruction among Swedish military personnel during the process of becoming veterans.

Adem Kose: Views on illness among muslim psychiatric patients, their family, and medical and religious caregivers.

Srdjan Sremac: The role of conversion and addiction in the life stories of former drug addicted persons.

Alie Weerman: From experiential knowledge to professional knowledge in addiction care; the function of existential issues.

The project is led by Ruard Ganzevoort
